Much has changed in this newly renovated park, but there is one walking space that hasn’t been altered in 35 years. On March 24, 1983, a time capsule was placed in Kissimmee Lakefront Park as part of the City’s centennial celebration. The current park design and construction was planned around the time capsule, so it was not moved or altered during redevelopment. This special nod to our community’s history will remain untouched for another 65 years until it is reopened on March 24, 2083.

1983 A.D. BY THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF
KISSIMMEE, FLORIDA ON THE OCCASION OF
THEIR CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION DEDICATED
TO THE FUTURE IN REMBERANCE OF THE
PAST. TO BE OPENED MARCH 24,2083

Where is it? In Veterans Lawn, in front of a palm tree as you approach Lakeview Drive.
