The plaque says, "What you see before you is a piece of Rancho Cucamonga's architectural heritage. If it could speak, it would tell an exciting story. During its seventy year history, many people walked beneath this decorative entry parapet, which was located over the entry to the store on the Lafourcade Ranch. Built in 1920 as a company store with attached living quarters, this building continued to house business that served important community needs. First associated with the eight-building winery complex constructed by John B. Lafourcade and his family between 1918 and 1922, and then with the grape growing and mercantile effort of the Sebastian Masi family. The structure also operated as the restaurant RoVal's which was a local attraction along Route 66. This etry parapet is the only remaining portion of the building, which Lafourcade had constructed in an eclectic combination of styles including Mission and Classic Revival. The I. B. Lafourcade Store was demolished in 1992 and this parapet was saved to be incorporated in the Masi Plaza project."
