De naam in t Witte Paard is ontstaan toen bij de opening van de zaal achter het Café een operette werd opgevoerd met de naam “Im weißen Rößl “
Dit gebouw is in de 20e eeuw begonnen als Parochiehuis voor de katholieke enclave. Na de kerkdienst werd in het Café een kopje koffie genuttigd en de nodige alcoholische drankjes. Ook was hier in die tijd de plaatselijke boerenleenbank gevestigd.
De zaal achter het Café is neergezet met medewerking van de eigen bewoners uit Cabauw. Omdat er toen der tijd nog geen brandweer in de Lopikerwaard was die binnen een aantal minuten ter plaatse kon zijn, was er naast het Café een brandweergarage gebouwd met hierin een brandweerspuit deze was inzetbaar voor de plaatselijke bevolking bij brand. De letters op de gevel bij het terras herinneren hier nog aan. Nu wordt deze ruimte gebruikt voor opslag.
Heden ten dage wordt Café , buurthuis , partycentrum In ’t Witte Paard gebruikt voor allerlei doeleinden . Feesten, partijen, vergaderingen, condoleances maar ook voor allerlei verenigingen. Het is de ankerplaats voor de zeer hechte gemeenschap in Cabauw, daarnaast is het een startplaats van veel wandelingen, fietstochten en zelfs autotochten.

The name in t Witte Paard was created when an operetta was performed with the name “Im weißen Rößl” at the opening of the hall behind the Café.
This building started in the 20th century as a Parish House for the Catholic enclave. After the church service, a cup of coffee and the necessary alcoholic drinks were enjoyed in the Café. The local farmers' lending bank was also located here at that time.
The room behind the Café was built with the cooperation of the residents of Cabauw. Because at the time there was no fire brigade in the Lopikerwaard that could be on site within a few minutes, a fire brigade garage had been built next to the Café with a fire brigade sprayer that could be used for the local population in the event of a fire. The letters on the façade near the terrace are a reminder of this. Now this space is used for storage.
Today, Café, community center, party center In 't Witte Paard are used for all kinds of purposes. Celebrations, parties, meetings, condolences, but also for all kinds of associations. It is the anchorage for the very close-knit community in Cabauw, and it is also a starting point for many walks, bike rides and even car trips.
