The Kerang Post Office was constructed in 1886, the single storey red brick building has white course lines and a hipped roof with Dutch gables and is clad with slate.
The post office includes a retail and counter area, postal manager’s office, a mail room and delivery sorting room. The four bedroom Postmaster's residence also has a lounge, kitchen and bathroom. Entrance to the postal chamber is through a three-bayed loggia with segmental arches and bluestone steps on either side.
