This attractive little park is situated at N Broadway and W Main, on Historic Route 66. This spot was the former site of Weatherford’s first bank. Also known as McPhetridge-Centennial Park, it commemorates the town’s founding in 1898. The park is nicely landscaped and has a large gazebo, a picnic area, a fountain and Centennial bricks that were donated by local residents, businesses, and organizations. It’s a nice place to rest and relax.
One unique feature is the weathervane that sits atop the gazebo. You will see a horse drawn carriage is the centerpiece, surrounded by the customary directional indicates (W,S,E,N). This carriage is something you would have expected to see in the early days of Weatherford's history, so it is very representative of the park's title.
