1946 LINDEMAN- JOHN DEERE
BO CRAWLER TRACTOR
VERY RARE (ONLY 1,645 MADE), AND FULLY RESTORED
LINDEMAN Power Equipment Company of Yakima, Wash., began as a local ag dealer, selling the John Deere BO Orchard Tractor. Seeing the need for a crawler style tractor, they began in1934 purchasing the BO engine and transmission from John Deere, then adding the crawler undercarriage (final drive, steering clutches, and track assemblies) of their design and manufacture. From 1934 through 1946 they made 1,645 BO Crawlers. The BO displayed was one of the last: #336158. Records indicate that its engine and transmission was shipped from the John Deere Waterloo plant in May 1946. In early 1947, John Deere & Co. purchased the assets of LINDEMAN and took over operations of the plant. That year they introduced the MC Crawler Tractor, using the new powertrain of the M series of tractors.
