DE: Mit dem Bau der ersten Eisenbahntrasse von Köln nach Bonn ab dem Jahr 1841 entstand auch der Wunsch, den Reisenden eine ansprechende Aussicht zu vermitteln. Dementsprechend wurde die Trassenführung am Brühler Schloss entlang geführt. Für den schon zu diesem Zeitpunkt geplanten Besuch des Schlosses Augustusburg durch die englische Königin Victoria am 13. August 1845 wurde vom Kölner Stadtarchitekten Johann-Peter Weyer ein Empfangsgebäude entworfen und erbaut. Die Einweihung des Empfangsgebäudes fand mit der Trasseneröffnung am 15. Februar 1844 statt. In der Brühler Denkmalliste wird das Empfangsgebäude unter der Nummer 225 geführt.

EN: With the construction of the first railway line from Cologne to Bonn from 1841, the desire arose to give travelers an attractive view. Accordingly, the train was routed along the Brühl castle. A reception building was designed and built by the Cologne city architect Johann-Peter Weyer for the visit to Augustusburg Castle by the English Queen Victoria on August 13th, 1845, which was already planned at this time. The inauguration of the reception building took place with the opening of the route on February 15th, 1844. The entrance building is listed under number 225 in the Brühl monument list.
