DE: Im Rahmen der Aktion "Gebäude erzählen Geschichte" hat der Lions Club in Brühl in Zusammenarbeit mit der Stadt Brühl Anfang 2011 fast dreissig Tafeln mit Hintergrundinformationen zur Geschichte der Gebäude gestiftet. Diese graue Tafel mit weißer Schrift befindet sich neben dem Eingang zum heutigen DB-Reisezentrum am Bahnhof Brühl (Max-Ernst-Allee 2) und trägt folgenden Text:

Die Eisenbahnstrecke Köln-Bonn gehört zu den ersten Eisenbahnlinien im Rheinland. Die 1841 vermessene Trasse wurde am 15. Februar 1844 eröffnet.
Der Wunsch, ein künstlerisch wie landschaftlich ansprechendes Gebiet zu erschließen, führte dazu, den Schienenweg unmittelbar am Schloss vorbeizuführen. |
An der Planung des Empfangsgebäudes in Brühl war u.a. der Kölner Stadtbaumeister J. P. Weyer beteiligt. Er richtete die Achse des Bahnhofs auf das Schloss aus.
Beim Besuch der englischen Königin Viktoria auf der Augustusburg 1845 war der Bahnhof fertiggestellt. |

EN: As part of the "Buildings tell a story" campaign, the Lions Club in Brühl, in cooperation with the city of Brühl, donated almost thirty boards with background information on the history of the buildings in early 2011. This gray board with white lettering is located next to the entrance to today's DB travel center at the Brühl train station (Max-Ernst-Allee 2) and bears the following text:

The Cologne-Bonn railway line is one of the first railway lines in the Rhineland. The route, measured in 1841, was opened on February 15th, 1844.
The desire to develop an artistically and scenically appealing area led the railroad to run right past the castle. |
The Cologne city architect J. P. Weyer was involved in the planning of the reception building in Brühl. He aligned the axis of the station with the castle.
During the visit of Queen Victoria of England to Augustusburg in 1845, the station was completed. |
