The First Congregational Church (organized in 1719), on the village Green, has a beautiful spire of the Wren type and a graceful green-shuttered fan window over the entrance. The building was erected in 1813.

Living in New England, I have been to a lot of 18th and 19th century churches. As indicated by the Guide, making special mention of the spire, I totally agree, It is unique and quite balanced. Other than the handicap ramp, the whole church has a sense of balance and stability.
