Her tog bønder et hvil under arbejdet.

Her tog bønder et hvil under arbejdet.

English: Markhuset in Ore is an open-air open-air museum of 19th-century agricultural culture. There is a small exhibition about the agricultural tools of the time and the processing of the soil. Here peasants took a rest during the work. The house is one of the few preserved.

The field house on Torpelundsvej between Tarup and Ore on Midtfyn was probably built at the end of the 19th century. Field houses were then built as a place where field workers could seek shelter during lunch. In the old field house, a mini museum has been created that tells the unique history of the place. The house shows a tab of old architecture and a bygone agricultural culture. The field house on Tarup Mark / Ore Mark is probably the last of its kind on Funen.

Markhuset is not Denmark's smallest museum - The honor goes to Lodshuset on the island of Nyord on Møn - but it is close.
