Meridian is a small town of approximately 45 residents. It is located two miles south of Highway 105, on Indian Meridian Road (CR N3230), approximately 12.5 miles southeast of Guthrie. The town was settled in the late 1800's and incorporated in 1902. After World War II, there was no railroad to Meridian, the cotton gins closed and agriculture in the area ceased. The two schools closed in 1970 and 2010. Today, any employed residents of Meridian, work in Guthrie or Stillwater.

The first post office in Meridian was established in 1894. Today the post office is located in a one-story metal building at 210 5th Street. The counter is open Monday to Friday from 9:00-11:00 am, and on Saturday from 8:30-9:30. The lobby, however, is open 24/7.
