The monument marks the site of the home where General Rufus Putnam was born. It is located in a residential neighbor, on a small plot of land, which is higher than street level. Conifer trees provide a backdrop for the monument. Easily missed if you are not looking for the site.

DIFFERENCES NOTED BETWEEN THE INVENTORY LISTING AND YOUR OBSERVATIONS AND RESEARCH:
The monument is in good condition. Surrounding land is well kept and trimmed. The monument sits on rise from the street, which has a stone embankment that is about 3 feet tall. The 3 tread stairs, some stones have moved out of place and need to be repositioned.
