Along with being the home of the Johnston Parks and Recreation Department, the Johnston Memorial Park facilities include a pair of side-by-side basketball courts surrounded by several multi-lamp posts.
The fenced in playing area is set along a roughly northwest-to-southeast configuration. Its plain blacktop, though flat, has lots of cracks. The outer boundaries and interior lines are painted white. Sturdy square stock posts hold metal backboards. Three of the four post bases are clad in blue padding for safety. The backboards are painted white with bright red outlines and shooter's squares, except for one, which has been completely stripped to bare metal. Orange hoops sport white nylon nets. A wide perimeter is laid out between the courts and the fence, but there is no seating.
The space is used for league play, so you may want to contact the Rec Department before heading over to use it. Due north of the playing area is a parking lot for about 50 vehicles.
