With the western expansion of the Pennsylvania Railroad the town of Altoona was also expanded. It became to be known as the "Railroad City" during the 1920's and 1930's.
There are plenty of relics of the railroad around the town and surrounding are.
This caboose has been put on permanent display at the Railroaders Memorial Museum.
