The Provincial Historical Archive of Pontevedra is a center of state ownership and management transferred since 1989 to the Autonomous Community of Galicia.

It depends organically on the Territorial Headquarters of the Department of Culture, Education and University Planning in Pontevedra and functionally on the General Sub-Directorate of Archives, within the General Secretariat of Culture.

Custody about 9 km of documents. Access to the documentation is free, with the restrictions imposed by current legislation and its state of conservation.

It is based in the so-called Casa de los Fonseca, on Paseo de Colón.
