Long Description:
Skovridder Staun gik bort i 2015, men egen står der stadig.

In the forest Hennetved Haver grows a large oak tree called Forester Stauns Oak.
When this oak tree was planted 300 years ago, no one knew that a boy named Henrik Staun would be born in 1922. Staun grew up and became a man who loved nature, especially trees. He was trained as a forester and helped to establish forests for the large estates on Langeland. Staun, however, began to question the way in which forests were cultivated. It was only about making money, and therefore fast-growing forest was planted such as. spruce forest at the expense of old varieties such as beech and oak. He therefore started working with the Nature Conservation Association, and wrote several books about trees. As an opponent of modern forestry, he helped preserve old trees in the Langeland forests.
In 2014, he was honored for his work in preserving the original trees and the 300-year-old oak tree was dedicated to him.
In front of the tree is a stone with the inscription: Skovridder Stauns Eg, 2014.
Forester Staun passed away in 2015, but his oak is still standing.
