There are also two of their young children buried with them in the plot. The column itself is fairly plain, without a garland or any type of ornamentation, and it stands between six and seven feet in height. The inscriptions are on the front and back of the base, with nothing on the sides. Mr. Holmsley had been what is called an "Indian fighter" back in the day, and he also saw service in the Civil War. After the war, he settled down to become a prominent area cattleman who also dealt in mercantile.
