This bridge was built in 1876 from wrought iron and is actually a grade II listed building.
It is a beam bridge that spans North Road, Darlington. It runs along the oldest public railway line in the world.
It also marks the border for the stretch of road under it. Where it turns from Northgate to North road and vice versa.
