The statue is located on the east side of the Plaça de Catalunya. Several other sculpture in this plaza were also made for the worlds fair. Unfortunately, when I visited in April 2014 I did not document most of them. However, I did take several photos of the Statue of Barcelona which was created by Frederic Marès. It sits upon a concrete pedestal about 20 feet above the plaza. The figure is riding a horse while holding what appears to be a ship, symbolizing Spanish conquest of the Americas.
