This historical marker is at the southeast corner of the church, at NW 11th and N. Robinson Ave. It sits directly below the church's cornerstone. You can spot this church from quite a distance by it's high red structure.

First Baptist Church
This building has been the home of the First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City since Feb. 26, 1911. The congregation which held its first service over a down-town saloon on Nov. 2, 1889, had W.H. Nichols as its first pastor. Its first church building, at 113 West Second Street, dedicated one year later, was considered to be the finest meeting house in the twin territories. First Baptist Church next moved to the north east corner of NW Third & Broadway into its "White Temple", later sold to the shrine. Within less than five years it had outgrown the temple and moved to this building on "Church Row."
