This Texas Highway Department marker, set in 1936, commemorates the creation of Wichita County. The marker is on the northwest corner of the intersection of Highway 473 and Rathgeber Road. The bronze marker is set on the top of a cairn of stone, which has affixed the seal of the Texas Highway Department and the year 1936. The text on the marker is
