“A good Samaritan assisted with evacuating 2 occupants from a roof they escaped to after becoming trapped above a fire in their home at 205 West 9th Street. This occurred at 9:54 am, as the Holland Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a fire in that residence. An open phone from the person reporting the fire inside the residence created concern that there may be trapped occupants. Additional information received while units were responding indicated that there was smoke showing and an active fire in the living room on the first floor.”
