Narrative Description:
The Gustave C. Mehlhose House is a two-and-one-half-story, cross-gabled and hipped-roof frame building with an exterior displaying simple Colonial Revival elements. A shallow hipped-roof open Tuscan-columned porch shelters the entrance, flanked by a projecting triple bay window accented by beveled glass. Paired lights punctuate the second story while a square rectangular light appears above the hipped-roof porch. The front gable is graced by a fanlight pediment topped by a keystone. A roof of wood shingles crowns the building.

Statement of Significance:
The Gustave C. Mehlhose House is historically significant for its association with a pioneer merchant family in Wyandotte.
