The 62-acre nature preserve is home to a variety of mammals, fish, amphibians, reptiles, hundreds of bird species, and a diverse plant population.

There are trails, including a boardwalk through the marsh, with wildlife viewing areas. There are scheduled programs. Admission to this area is free.
