The John C. Hitt Library is the primary academic library of the University of Central Florida. Founded in 1968, the library is a research, meeting, and study space for UCF students.
The library recently underwent its third major expansion. The most notable addition was the Automated Retrieval Center, a book storage area that is the first of its kind in Florida. The expansion also brought a reading room, several meeting rooms, and a gallery area. Renovations to older parts of the library are also planned.
The library is open to walk-through, but checkout privileges are limited to UCF students, faculty, staff, retirees, and some special borrowers.
