Linwood Place was formed in 1909 when the original homestead of Mike Hrabe, later owned by Levi Overholser, was sold to the Linwood Place Development Company. Many notable OKC residents lived here; any from this area would recognize the names Classen and Shartel. among others. The curved road to the east of the park marks the bath of the old Linwood Streetcar Line. Linwood Place is the first designated Urban Conservation District in Oklahoma City.
