Nous avons attribué une valeur patrimoniale supérieure à l'ancien couvent des Soeurs de Notre-Dame-du-Saint-Rosaire en raison de la qualité de son architecture, de son bon état d'authenticité, de sa valeur d'usage et de sa rareté dans la région. Les couvents anciens encore conservés sont rare au sein de la MRC de Rivière-du-Loup.

En outre, l'ancien couvent, qui constitue un point de repère au coeur de L'Isle-Verte, contribue largement au paysage de la municipalité.

L'imposant édifice offre une bonne authenticité architecturale. En fait, toutes les caractéristiques d'origine semblent encore en place, exception faite des fenêtres. Celles-ci ont été remplacées par un modèle de facture moderne mais qui s'apparente au modèle d'origine à imposte. Par contre, le revêtement de brique a été conservé de même que les briques polychromes qui forment les arcs et les chaînes d'angle. Les consoles qui supportent le petit toit au-dessus de l'entrée principale sont remarquables, tout comme le clocheton surmontant le toit.

D'autres composantes décoratives qui traduisent l'influence néoclassique ont été avantageusement préservées : la corniche saillante, en bordure de la toiture, et l'avant-corps, au centre de la façade, surmonté de l'imposant fronton.

We have attributed a higher heritage value to the former convent of the Sisters of Notre-Dame-du-Saint-Rosaire because of the quality of its architecture, its good state of authenticity, its use value and its rarity in the region. The old convents still preserved are rare within the MRC de Rivière-du-Loup.

In addition, the former convent, which is a landmark in the heart of L'Isle-Verte, contributes significantly to the landscape of the municipality.

The imposing building offers good architectural authenticity. In fact, all of the original features still seem to be in place except for the windows. These have been replaced by a modern invoice model but which is similar to the original transom model. On the other hand, the brick cladding has been preserved as well as the polychrome bricks which form the arches and the corner chains. The consoles which support the small roof above the main entrance are remarkable, as is the steeple above the roof.

Other decorative components which reflect the neoclassical influence have been advantageously preserved: the protruding cornice, at the edge of the roof, and the front section, in the center of the facade, surmounted by the imposing pediment.
