The Tank Monument is a war memorial in the Belgian city of Arlon. This tank memorial is located on the Place Léopold in the center. The American tank destroyer is of the type M10 Tank Destroyer, called Angel of Freedom.
On September 10, 1944, Arlon was liberated from German occupation by the Allies during World War II. The armored fighting vehicle took part in the Battle of the Ardennes as part of 630th Tank Destroyer Batallion, Company A.
On September 24, 1984, the tank destroyer was placed on the square in honor of the liberation of Arlon, to mark the 40th anniversary of the liberation. This place was chosen because the liberators were greeted by the city here in 1944.
