A parish boundary marker in the form of a metal plate set into a wall, marking the boundary between Leyton Parish and Wanstead Parish.

This is a metal boundary marker, inscribed ‘LP - 1893’. LP stands for Leyton Parish and the marker is of 1893 vintage, which may well be contemporaneous with the houses being built in this street. The plate is almost square in shape, but with a curved top. It is set close to ground level into the brick wall of a small front garden. The wall looks to have been rebuilt in recent years and it is good to see that the boundary marker was not lost at that time.
The marker was placed here to mark the boundary between Leyton (to the west) and Wanstead (to the east) parishes. There is no corresponding Wanstead parish marker at this location.
