A nice park with very nice views right on the Illinois River in East Peoria, IL.

A nice 8.5 acre park right on the Illinois River. It is located behind the Riverside Center shopping complex (main stores are Walmart and Lowes).
It is a nice place on a warm sunny afternoon to take a stroll or just sit and relax. It offers nice views of the skyline of Peoria on the opposite side of the river and other views of the river.
On this site was the Wallace Station, a coal-fired power plant that was shutdown in the 1980's and demolished in 1995. In its place a shopping complex and this park were built.
Parking is at N 40 41.106, W 89 34.980 or just past the north end of Walmart. The park entrance is obvious from the parking area.
