The village of St Cyrus is situated above the cliff-top on the North Sea coast of Scotland, in the extreme south-east corner of Aberdeenshire (formerly Kincardineshire). The parish church lies on an elevated site close to the cliffs and is prominent due to its tall steeple. At the entrance to the church is the war memorial commemorating the men of the parish.
The memorial takes the form of a grey granite cross above an octagonal shaft and pedestal which contains the inscriptions in black leaded lettering. The main inscription reads as follows:
'TO THE GLORY OF GOD IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF St CYRUS PARISH WHO DIED ON SERVICE IN THE GREAT WARS 1914-1919 1939-1945 "FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH"'
