DE: Die 195cm große Bronze-Skulptur "Assunta" wurde 1921 vom Künstler Georg Kolbe (1877 - 1947) erschaffen. Als erster Teil einer geplanten Figurengruppe für die Grabanlage des Fabrikanten Karl August Lingner blieb die Skulptur der unbekleideten jungen Frau nach Absage des Auftrages ein Einzelstück. 1953 erwarb das Wallraf-Richartz-Museum für die Stadt Köln die Skulptur und stellte sie in den Museumsräumen aus. Zur Bundesgartenschau 1971 wurde sie dann im Rheinpark im großen Blumenhof aufgestellt.

EN: The 195cm tall bronze sculpture "Assunta" was created in 1921 by the artist Georg Kolbe (1877 - 1947). As the first part of a planned group of figures for the grave of the manufacturer Karl August Lingner, the sculpture of the naked young woman remained a unique piece after the order was canceled. In 1953 the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum acquired the sculpture for the city of Cologne and exhibited it in the museum. For the Federal Garden Show in 1971 it was then set up in the Rheinpark in the large flower courtyard.
