Hoveddonator var Aksel og Bertha Damgård, og også Fyns Amt gav tilsagn om en gave til Byen på 50.000 kr. Resten af beløbet blev indsamlet blandt borgerne.
Klokkerne er leveret af Koninklijke Klokkengieterij Petit & Fritsen B.V. i Holland gennem ingeniørfirma Kevest A/S, Odense. Den 2. juli 1988 indviede Hendes Majestæt Dronning Margrethe II klokkespillet. Ved indvielsen blev der spillet en kort fanfare - Fantasi over Kong Kristian stod ved højen mast.
English: In 1988, Bogense town celebrated its 700th anniversary, and in this connection, a collection was started among the citizens for a gift to the town. The gift was to be a chime in Bogense consisting of 18 bells.
The main donors were Aksel and Bertha Damgård, and Funen County also promised a gift to the City of DKK 50,000. The rest of the amount was collected from the citizens.
The bells are supplied by Koninklijke Klokkengieterij Petit & Fritsen B.V. in the Netherlands through engineering company Kevest A / S, Odense. On July 2, 1988, Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II inaugurated the carillon. At the inauguration, a short fanfare was played - Imagination of King Kristian stood by the high mast.
