Door archeologisch onderzoek bij dit kruispunt weet ik dat de vroeger op dit kruispunt de grens lag tussen de dorpen Den Dungen en Maaskantje. De dorpen waren en zijn nog aan elkaar gegroeid. Den Dungen viel onder de stad Den Bosch en Maaskantje onder het dorp Sint-Michielsgestel. De noordelijke weg op dit kruispunt heet het Heilig Hartplein, de westelijke de Grote Molenstraat, de oostelijke de Rijndersstraat en de zuidelijke (helaas geen straatnaambordje) het Maaskantje.

From archaeological research at this intersection I know that the border between the villages of Den Dungen and Maaskantje used to be at this intersection. The villages were and still have grown together. Den Dungen was part of the city of Den Bosch and Maaskantje was part of the village of Sint-Michielsgestel. The northern road at this intersection is called the Heilig Hartplein, the western one the Grote Molenstraat, the eastern one the Rijndersstraat and the southern (unfortunately no street sign) the Maaskantje.
