Rue McClanahan was already a television star before she became the iconic Blanche Devereaux on the hit sitcom The Golden Girls. In 1987 she won an Emmy for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.
Rue Larue was a cafe owned and operated by Michael LaRue and Rue's son, Mark Bish. LaRue was a close friend of Rue's, and inherited a lot of Golden Girls and personal artifacts after Ms. McClanahan died. In the cafe were many framed photos, a signed Betty White memoir, some of Blanche's clothes, and Rue's Emmy.
The cafe closed in 2017 but had developed a following. Many fans hope that it will reopen one day!
