"Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States

Two groups of veterans who had served in Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Philippines, and China merged into the American Veterans of Foreign Service on September 13-15 1905 at the Eastside Theater in Altoona. The new group was the forerunner of the V.F.W. founded in 1914.
