Neerijnen has a special hotel for bees in the parking lot of the Stroomhuis cultural center.
The initiative for the insect hotel comes from members of the West-Betuwe Beekeepers Association, with which the Stroomhuis cinema cooperates.
The structure was already completed in October 2014. The insect hotel consists of all kinds of custom-made pieces of tree trunks with holes. Bamboo and reed stems have also been added.
Insect hotels provide shelter for bees, among others, which are important for biodiversity. Especially in the Betuwe, with fruit cultivation, insects are very important.
Neerijnen heeft een speciaal hotel voor bijen op het parkeerterrein van cultureel centrum Stroomhuis..
Het initiatief voor het insectenhotel komt van leden van de Imkervereniging West-Betuwe, waarmee het filmhuis van het Stroomhuis samenwerkt.
In oktober 2014 werd het bouwsel al gerealiseerd. Het insectenhotel bestaat uit allerlei op maat gemaakte stukken boomstammen met gaten. Ook bamboe en rietstengels zijn toegevoegd.
Insectenhotels bieden beschutting aan onder meer bijen, die belangrijk zijn voor de biodiversiteit. Zeker in de Betuwe, met de fruitteelt, zijn insecten heel belangrijk.
