The Thompsonville Rotary Club of Enfield donated and dedicated this Eternal Light For Peace on June 13, 1965. Thompsonville is a village located in the northwest corner of Enfield. The club changed its name to Rotary Club of Enfield in the late 1960s to better identify with the town as a whole.
A white lamppost has a hexagonal lantern with a light bulb which is always lit. A bronze plaque affixed to a granite slab at the base of the lamppost is inscribed:
