Down along the Grand Strand, beach reading is a past time observed since time immemorial. If one parks at the 9th avenue beach access and begins their walk towards the water, they are met by a beacon of literacy. An unassuming, yet ingeniously placed box stuffed with books for all ages.
This miniature library is part of the "Little Free Libraries" program. Graciously donated and maintained by Sherry Baldwin, a local author to North Myrtle Beach.
The inscription reads: "Sponsored by Sherry Baldwin Books, where serendipity means finding a book at the beach, by chance, makes for a happy day!"
