Grenspaal 246 op de rijksgrens tussen de gemeenten Woensdrecht en Essen is exact 100 jaar geleden -op 29 februari 1904- in verband met een wegreconstructie, onder het verhoogde wegdek terecht gekomen en later verdwenen. Thans is een nieuwe grenspaal voor dit grenspunt vervaardigd, welke wordt geplaatst op een plaats, niet in de rijksgrens, zoals weergegeven op bijgaande tekening. Mogelijk wordt in de toekomst, na de reconstructie van de kruising Weg naar Wouw - Bredestraat , deze paal weer op het oorspronkelijke feitelijke grenspunt herplaatst.

Boundary 246 on the national border between the municipalities of Woensdrecht and Essen ended up under the raised road surface exactly 100 years ago - on February 29, 1904 - due to road reconstruction and later disappeared. A new boundary marker for this boundary point has now been manufactured, which is placed at a location, not in the national boundary, as shown in the accompanying drawing. In the future, after the reconstruction of the road to Wouw - Bredestraat intersection, this pole may be relocated to the original actual border point.
