“Localizada na zona da Serra Devassa, nas Sete Cidades, esta lagoa era muito importante no passado, uma vez que a sua água, conduzida através do longo aqueduto de pedra chamado de Muro das Nove Janelas, abastecia os fontanários públicos de Ponta Delgada. Ocupando duas crateras vulcânicas, a maior parte da lagoa é rodeada por matas de criptoméria e o caminho em seu redor encontra-se ajardinado com azáleas.

Located in the Serra Devassa area, in Sete Cidades, this lagoon was very important in the past, since its water, conducted through the long stone aqueduct called Muro das Nove Janelas, supplied the public fountains of Ponta Delgada. Occupying two vulcanic craters, most of the lagoon is surrounded by forests of cryptomeria and the road around is landscaped with azáleas."
