This carved bird sits just inside the walls of a private residence.
The property in which it sits is on the corner of a semi-busy junction. It also a grade II listed building. The side and back of the property is alongside a public green space. It is from here this carving is most visible. It is one of two wooden carvings of birds on the property. This one is the least detailed of the two. Carved from the stump of a tree it is the profile of a large bird of prey, facing in a North, Westerly direction. The outline of the bird is carved beautifully in detail although the facial features are not clearly defined.
