Fortitude III was created by Mark Kruncke of North Carolina. He said "Fortitude III was made to represent strength and courage in our continuously changing world. I was able to follow a mathematical formula of a spiral to make the stem and overall shape of the leaf. I chose a spiral shape for the stem because it is one of humanities oldest symbols, it represents eternal change, new beginnings, renewal and hope for the future."
