First Parish Congregational Church (142 Exchange Street) is now known as the Church of Christ. Built in 1850 as the Fourth Meetinghouse, the church retains its meetinghouse form with a long gable front sanctuary and a smaller projecting entrance portico that is topped with a square three-stage bell tower. Although the building has been covered with vinyl siding, it retains its window hoods (arched on the enclosed portico and rectangular labels on the sides of the main block) its full pediments in the gable peak and bracketed tower.
