The town of Cassadaga is located in east central Florida, between Orlando approximately 30 miles to the south and Daytona Beach about 20 miles to the northeast. This unincorporated community is south of Lake Helen in rural Volusia County. It was originally founded by George P. Colby as the Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp in 1895 and consisted of 35 acres.
Now listed in the National Register of Historic Places as the Southern Cassadaga Spiritualist Camp Historic District and started in the late 1890’s it still continues to be a spiritualist community and is known for its physics and mediums.
