The former Cascade Dance Hall is located on Banff Avenue in the downtown core.
It opened in 1921 to provide an outlet for people visiting Banff to "shake a leg". The hall, noted for its "floating" dance floor was one of the most popular in Western Canada. Dances to the Big Band tunes of Jim Hutchin's orchestra, were held nightly during the summer months and on special occasions during the rest of the year.
It closed in the early 1960's. Currently it houses a Greek restaurant on the main floor and a burger restaurant on the lower level.
