The Star of the Lake Lodge was chartered January 13th, 1865. The red brick temple building was built in 1913. “Masonic Temple” is displayed above the second floor of the building. The Mason emblem and the Lodge number 158 are displayed on globes attached to the front wall of the building.
An antique mall occupies the retail section of the Temple’s building ground floor.
Restoration project completed in 2019:
City of South Haven, in partnership with local building owners, has completed façade improvement projects on two key properties in downtown South Haven. The Masonic Temple project, located at
321 Center Street, included tuck pointing, brick repair and replacement of windows to restore the historic character of the building, while also improving energy efficiency.
