On the way from the port of St. Naum to the monastery of St. Naum one will pass a lifesize statue of St. Naum with two offertories. The statue was made by Boris Dzeparoski. A sign next to the statue shows several photos of the artist, his work and the baptism of the statue.
Below the photos there is some information that is provided in three languages (German, English and Macedonian). The (corrected) English text is:
This sculpture of Saint Naum has been made by the free sculptor Boris Dzeparoski on the same place of the old walnut tree with 15 hours work, using only his chainsaw.
The sculpture has been holy since the day of Bogojavlenie-Vodici (19.01.2006), baptised by the archimandrit Nektarij.
Here you can see the pictures from the whole period of his work with the sculpture.
About his work and experience he has written a book named "Vizija, son, najave" (Vision, dream, reality)
It seems that the whole statue has been painted black. That's why one can't see the original color and grain of the wood, but the photos give a good impression of what it was looking like. On the back side of the statue there's a small bronze plaque saying:
Summer 2005
made by Boris Dzeparoski from Ohrid
As a gift for St. Naum from:
Boris, Manuela, Laura, Mateja and Leonida Dzeparoski
assistants Blaze "Zulu" and Dime "Sharko"
