Dorner Park Angel - Wichita, KS - Angel of Hope Statues on Waymarking.com

The southwest side of the Randall L. Dorner Park is where you can find this beautiful angel statue. It is secured at the top of a tall foundation, with four benches around it and what appears to be a wall to eventually be used for name plaques. A long sidewalks leads visitors from the street to the circular concrete courtyard that holds the sculpture and benches.

Text on sculpture plaque:

The Christmas Box Angel
On wings of hope our angel flies. Gracefully soaring in Kansas skies.
She bears the pain of children gone, By parents left to carry on.
So when that ache becomes too great, And it's hard to face the day,
Our angel waits for us right here, to help us on our way.

We gather here annually December 6th at 7:00 p.m. for a candlelight vigil to remember loved ones no longer with us. All are welcome to attend.
