The first temple was erected here between 1732-1737 in the Piedmont Baroque style. The project is attributed to Jakub Fontana. Unfortunately, in 1865 the church was completely destroyed by fire, which was rebuilt thanks to the efforts of the Kurtz family a little later. Between 1910 and 1913 the church was extended by a transept, two chapels on the west side and a chancel with a sacristy, designed by Hugo Kudera.
